The Body

There are two primary ways in which I work with the body in my psychotherapy.

The first is my general approach: I support my clients in coming into a deeper, more trusting relationship with their bodies. I do this through a combination of trauma-informed grounding and awareness techniques, and psychotherapy processes that re-build resilience and flexibility in the nervous system.

The second is that I have have specialized training in supporting people through body-specific experiences: pregnancy and postpartum; body image, in particular related to food and eating; and working with people of all ages who have been impacted by medical challenges, health conditions, or chronic pain.

My approach integrates Gestalt therapy, Somatic Experiencing techniques, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems, nervous system regulation tools, and attachment-based therapy. I bring attunement, authenticity, and concrete skills to support you in learning to be with yourself and your body more comfortably and fully.
